The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has an incredibly daunting task to keep American citizens informed about the latest Covid developments AND constantly offer their science-based recommendations. Both are incredibly difficult in today’s frantically moving environment.

We learned today that the CDC director, Dr. Rochelle Walensky, retained prominent Democratic media consultant Mandy Grunwald to improve her communication skills. This is a good move! Dr. Walensky is a sharp, courageous individual and has proven to be an admirable leader during these very tough times. However, some serious strengthening of her (and CDC’s) messages are needed.
