Each year the Nonprofit Association of Oregon (NAO) and ReputationUs, an Oregon-based reputation management firm, offers one NAO nonprofit member with six-months of pro bono reputation management support (a $14,000 value) through the Nonprofit Reputation Program. In late 2020, Equine Outreach—a horse rescue and sanctuary nonprofit in Bend—was selected as the 2021 Nonprofit Reputation Program recipient.
Through the Program, Equine Outreach received:
- Reputation Audit. An assessment of the nonprofit’s current reputation internally (e.g., staff, volunteers, donors) and externally (e.g., public, political, media, social media).
- Reputation Enhancement Plan. An actionable 2021 reputation enhancement plan.
- Six Months of Support. Reputation management support that includes content development, crisis management, media relations, social media, news releases and message unity training.
Equine Outreach’s President Dianne Scott summarized the 2021 Nonprofit Reputation Program; “We were extremely fortunate to win six months of pro-bono support from RepUs through Nonprofit Association of Oregon. The RepUs team helped us navigate through some very challenging times for our nonprofit. They immediately helped us confront and evaluate the public perception of our organization and work toward a clear future.”
Scott added, “RepUs performed a very thorough assessment of our mission, strategy, correspondence and fine-tuned areas that needed the most help. With their guidance and enhancement plan, we have a unified message to carry forward, as well as a 2021 theme we are passionate about. We are now able to utilize these tools with our correspondence, outreach and marketing. They even connected us with a few graduating students from the University of Oregon to help. RepUs truly cared about our cause and went above and beyond in their consultations and guidance. We couldn’t thank them enough for such stellar help!”
